Advanced Search Techniques
Write better search queries to find higher-quality leads.
The quality of your leads starts with the quality of your search query. A few small changes to how you write your searches can dramatically improve the results you get.
Be specific with location
Always include a city, town, or neighbourhood. Avoid country-level searches — they return too many results spread across too wide an area to be actionable.
- Good: "electricians in Utrecht"
- Good: "accountants near Amsterdam Centrum"
- Avoid: "electricians in Netherlands"
Use business categories
Google Maps understands business category terms. Use the same language a customer would use to find that type of business:
- "personal trainer" → fitness coaches
- "web design agency" → digital studios
- "notary" → legal professionals
- "physiotherapist" → rehabilitation clinics
Combine category and location variants
Run multiple searches for the same type of business using different location terms. A city may have leads under "Amsterdam", "Amsterdam Noord", "Amsterdam West", and "Amsterdam Centrum" that do not all appear in a single search.
Target by niche
Adding a niche qualifier narrows your audience and usually improves lead quality:
- "luxury wedding photographers Amsterdam" — premium segment
- "vegan restaurants Rotterdam" — niche hospitality
- "sustainable architects Utrecht" — values-based niche
💡 Tip
Prepare your lead list in advance — whether from a directory, referrals, or a CSV export from another tool. Castor Flow deduplicates automatically when you import.
